Installing Xerox C8055 Drivers (Mac)

Last Reviewed 2023-06-28

This article shows the steps to install drivers for the Xerox Color Multifunction Printer on Mac OS. These steps were tested on Mac OS 13.3.1.

If you are not on campus, you will need to be logged on to the campus VPN for these steps to work.

Download and install the driver file

The latest driver can be downloaded from Xerox here. You can also download if from the printer support site at https://www.support.xerox.com/en-us/product/altalink-c8000-series.

Once downloaded, double-click the file and run the installer:

The installer may ask for permission to run. It may also ask for your Mac login password:

Press continue at the introduction, then read and accept/decline the license agreement:

Once the default destination has been selected, the installer is ready to place the driver on your Mac:

After the driver has been installed, you will now be asked to select the printer. Since there are many Xerox copiers on campus, the list will be slow to load or may not load at all. We recommend pressing the "Don't See Your Printer?" button to manually enter the printer name:

The printer name can be found at https://help.cs.unc.edu/en/blog/department-printers. For this article, we used the xrxsn107.cs.unc.edu printer located in SN107. The model of the printer is C8055:

At this point, the printer should be installed. Feel free to print a test page to confirm it is working as expected:

If you encounter any issues, please use the contact button on this page, or send email to help@cs.unc.edu describing the problem. Someone will respond to you as soon as possible.
